Launching a National Platform

Occupation: Relationship experts and executive coaches with clients like Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Nationwide, and the San Francisco Giants

Goal: Book quality podcast interviews, TV segments, and national editorial features to attract potential book customers

BACKGROUND

CrisMarie Campbell and Susan Clarke wanted to get their book, The Beauty of Conflict for Couples: Igniting Passion, Intimacy, and Connection in Your Relationship (The Tiny Press), into as many hands as possible via national magazine, TV and podcast features.

They had previously worked with a publicist for their first book but confessed that they were disappointed in the press that he had landed for them.

OUR STRATEGY

We positioned CrisMarie and Susan as relationship experts that have a personal understanding of the unique needs of nontraditional, modern couples (LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, open, or remarried), and we praised it as the first inclusive relationship guide.

In alignment with their identity as an LGBTQIA+ couple of twenty years, we approached outlets, freelance writers, and influencers that have been transparent about being advocates and allies for the queer community.

We highly recommend Cher and Ginkgo PR if you are launching a book and want to expand your reach with book sales through podcasts, TV, and press. Cher is on the ball. Her and her team are professional, organized, and get results. We’d work with her on our next book launch in a heartbeat.

THEIR RESULTS

As a result of community and media outreach, the book reached #1 Amazon Bestseller status in two separate categories.

CrisMarie and Susan were also booked on 45 engaged and quality podcasts, featured as guests on Great Day Houston with Deborah Duncan, showcased in 4 editorial national and international features, and had one major shout-out on The Today Show with Hoda and Jenna.

During the week of the launch, their business website also saw a 550% increase in traffic.

Beyond helping the authors bring the book onto a national platform, we also helped reshape the narrative about what it looks like to be in a healthy and successful LGBTQIA+ relationship and started inclusive conversations about how we can strengthen all types of romantic partnerships.
